Second Parallel Flight - vs. LS3 (5/31/2008)

On May 31, 2008 I flew my deturbulated Standard Cirrus parallel with an LS3 to compare performance under actual soaring conditions. The flight seemed to go well and I reported eight minutes of parallel flight with matching performance vs. an LS3 with about 15% better performance than mine in standard condition. However, I must now say that yesterday, 7/19/08, the pilot told me that he had a stomach ailment and was not feeling well ... making poor judgments. He had said something on the date of the flight about using his spoilers, but now clarified that he was playing with them during our parallel flight test, not merely while maneuvering into position. Oops!

Bottom line: The flight was meaningless, unless it indicated a bad day for the deturbulators. Therefore, I have removed the story of that flight from the web site.
